ON-PREM TO CLOUD

MIGRATION

Legacy infrastructure is no longer just a cost center—it’s a barrier to growth, agility, and resilience. Organizations that continue to rely on traditional on-premise systems face rising capital expenses, increasing operational complexity, and limited flexibility in responding to changing business demands. To stay competitive, many are turning to cloud-based infrastructure to reduce costs, streamline operations, and modernize their IT environments.

While hyperscaler providers like Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud dominate the conversation, they often introduce complexity, unpredictable pricing, and hidden costs such as data ingress and egress fees. Nfina Technologies offers a compelling alternative—delivering high-performance cloud infrastructure with transparent pricing and lower total cost of ownership, without the burden of unnecessary fees.

Successfully transitioning to the cloud requires more than just selecting a provider—it demands a strategic partner with the expertise to guide the process. Unlike hyperscalers focused solely on public cloud, Nfina provides a full spectrum of solutions, including on-premise infrastructure, cloud hosting, and professional services. This unique approach allows organizations to choose the right path—whether full migration or hybrid—based on their specific business and technical requirements.

With deep expertise in infrastructure design, virtualization, storage, and hybrid cloud environments, Nfina helps organizations migrate servers, storage, and applications with confidence. The result is a streamlined, low-risk transition that minimizes disruption while delivering the performance, reliability, and operational efficiency required to support modern business demands.

WHY CHOOSE CLOUD-HOSTED INFRASTRUCTURE

OVER ON-PREMISE SOLUTIONS

Organizations often choose cloud-hosted infrastructure for its flexibility and cost efficiency. Unlike on-premise environments that require significant upfront capital investment in hardware, cloud solutions operate on a pay-as-you-go model, turning large capital expenses into more predictable operating costs. This reduces the financial burden of purchasing, maintaining, and refreshing equipment. In addition, cloud providers handle routine maintenance, updates, and infrastructure management, allowing internal IT teams to focus on higher-value projects instead of day-to-day system upkeep.

Cloud infrastructure also improves accessibility, reliability, and speed of deployment. Systems and data can be accessed from virtually anywhere, making it easier to support remote work and distributed teams. Nfina’s built-in geo-redundancy and disaster recovery capabilities help ensure high availability without the need for complex in-house solutions. Additionally, new environments can be deployed quickly, enabling organizations to respond faster to business needs and accelerate innovation.

CLOUD MIGRATION STRATEGIES

Several strategies are available for successful cloud adoption, and the best approach depends on factors such as business objectives, technical requirements, and desired outcomes. Nfina is committed to helping organizations evaluate these options and select the strategy that best aligns with their specific needs.

Rehosting-icon

REHOSTING

The process of rehosting entails transferring components to the cloud without significant modification. In essence, you are taking your current setup and seamlessly transporting it to the cloud infrastructure. This is typically the most efficient method of migration, as it does not entail modifying the application’s structure.

Refactoring-icon

REFACTORING

Refactoring entails revamping applications to maximize the benefits of cloud-native features.

Replatforming-icon

REPLATFORMING

Replatforming serves as a compromise between rehosting and refactoring. It involves making certain enhancements to the application to utilize cloud capabilities, although not to the same extent as in refactoring.

Repurchasing-icon

REPURCHASING

When you repurchase, you switch to a new product and typically let go of or swap out your current software licenses for your application. A prime illustration of this is when you opt to switch from VMware to Proxmox for your virtualization software.

Retiring-icon

RETIRING

Retiring involves decommissioning applications or assets that are no longer needed.

STEPS FOR SUCCESSFUL CLOUD MIGRATION

Select Infographic

Select the Right Cloud Provider and Strategy

While a well-known brand may be appealing, it’s important to remember that their solution may not necessarily be the best fit for your business. Look for options that offer the desired combination of features, whether it be cost, compliance, scalability, or disaster recovery capabilities. Additionally, be cautious of potential hidden fees like ingress and egress charges, which can add cost and unpredictably to your monthly bill.

Plan Your Migration

At Nfina, we take care of overseeing and managing your migration plan. This includes conducting an audit of all your current on-premise systems, including applications, data, and infrastructure. We work with you to identify which elements need to be migrated, updated, or retired while taking into account any dependencies, business objectives, and security/compliance requirements.

Security and Compliance

While specific industries may have strict data protection needs, it is important for all individuals and organizations to adhere to the overall regulations of their respective jurisdictions. Nfina takes measures to ensure that appropriate security protocols, such as data encryption, firewalls, and identity and access management systems are implemented.

During the entire migration process, we handle all of your data with the same level of sensitivity. After the migration is finished, our team will continuously monitor and track security events to ensure ongoing compliance.

Migration

Your complete data infrastructure—including servers, networking, and storage—can be migrated to the cloud.

In many cases, on-premise servers are first backed up using Nfina’s Backup-as-a-Service (BaaS) platform and then restored directly into the Nfina-Cloud environment. This method uses immutable snapshots to protect data and enables a non-intrusive migration process that minimizes downtime and operational disruption.

In other scenarios, new cloud-based servers are deployed, and data is transferred at the application layer into the Nfina-Cloud platform.

Testing and Optimizing

Whether you are transferring a small portion of your data and applications or migrating your entire environment, we thoroughly test each stage to ensure everything is functioning correctly post-migration. Our team continuously monitors and optimizes your cloud infrastructure to guarantee cost-effectiveness and alignment with your business objectives.
