Nfina recently attended the GMIS International Conference, where the attendees are typically State, City, and County Government (SLED) IT folks.  During the conference, Nfina participated in a Vendor speed dating session with the attendees.  There were ~12 tables with ~10 IT folks at each table that rotated every 5 minutes.

After a brief introduction of Nfina, I asked each attendee If they had a SAN or Hyperconverged storage (100% answered yes). I then polled each table to find out what they used for backup.  They responded with the usual suspects (Veeam, Rubrik, Acronis, Commvault, Datto, etc.).

I then posed a very straightforward question:  1) If the bad actors got into your production and corrupted it and 2) also got into your backups and corrupted them; what is your Plan B?  The most common answer we received was that they would have to get their resume ready because they would be fired.

Interesting enough, when I explained that Nfina has a plan B (immutable snapshots) built right into all our storage solutions (ie. SAN, NAS, HCI) that run about half the price of our storage competitors, they all got interested and wanted to hear more about Nfina.  This turned out to be a great show for Nfina.

Hyper-V Integration

Engineering is currently working on integrating Hyper-V automations into our NfinaView software. Features such as Failover, Test Backup, and Rollback will be available for Hyper-V beginning in Q1 2025. Be on the lookout for our demo videos coming soon.

Proxmox Partnership

Engineering has integrated Proxmox VE with our NfinaStore based HCI and Storage systems. Nfina is now a Proxmox partner and fully supporting Proxmox VE as a hypervisor for all of our product offerings. NfinaView workflows will also be ported over to our Proxmox VE offerings in the near future.

Nfina AI Project

Engineering has started the Nfina AI Project which will be a software extension of our 4508T-AI Workstations. This software will streamline AI workflows and provide workflow automations and integrations with many open-source platforms. Prefabricated models, open-source datasets, and popular Docker containers are being integrated into the systems . A benchmarking module will allow for benchmark automation using common benchmarks for training and inference from MLCommons.org. A SLURM module is also being integrated to allow for scheduling of training and inference jobs against compute and GPU resources. This project is under active development with a goal of being customer ready in Q2 2025.
