How Does Network Function Virtualization Architecture Differ from Traditional Network Architecture? 

The old type of configuration in networks used to depend on control devices. Each physical component had a different network feature, for example a firewall, a load balancer, etc. Because of this, the setup would be expensive. Also, the management of the network had to oversee many physical devices, which made overseeing the network for load balancing, managing server load, etc. cheap in cost, but expensive in management.

VNFM manages individual virtual network functions by overseeing configuration management, fault detection and recovery, performance monitoring, and software maintenance.
